For years Ninth State Dance Studio has provided quality professional dance instruction that offers each dancer a solid technical foundation coupled with the development of individual expression in a supportive and friendly environment. Our classes focus on providing students with a sound dance education that enables both the recreational and pre-professional dancer to pursue their own individual goals.

BALLROOM DANCING

    4 Weeks of THE FOXTROT- Mondays 7:30-8:30p   $50 couple

    4 Weeks of THE SWING - Tuesdays 7:30-8:30p   $50 couple

Classes

Classes are available to dancers of every level and ability ages 3 through adult. Classes offered include Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Modern, Irish, Hip-Hop, Pre-Dance, Creative Movement, Competition Teams, Ballroom, and more.

The Ninth State Youth Dance Co. – 6 performances throughout Central NH in Tap, Ballet, Jazz, Modern & Hip-Hop. This is an auditioned youth dance company for dancers level III and up. It is designed to teach all aspects of performance skills. Rehearsals 6-7pm Thursdays. Performance Dates Thus Far: The Boston Celtics - March 14th. Other Dates TBD.

The Ninth State Youth Ballet* – 6 to 8 performances of the Nutcracker and Peter & The Wolf performed throughout Central NH. This is by instructor permission only. Students in the Youth Ballet Company are automatically included in performing with the Ninth State Dance Company. Rehearsals 6:00pm to 7:30pm Thursdays.

Placement

It is imperative to understand that unlike academic placement, dance students generally stay in the same class for 2 years. Placement is based on a number of variables: previous study, age, maturity, and strength & technique; however, all placement is at the discretion of the instructors. It is important to impress upon students that “moving up” is not indicative of “being better”, but rather proper placement is to insure the most positive, obtainable, safe, and beneficial learning environment for the individual.

In general:

Pre-Dance	Ages 3 & 4
Creative Movement	Grades K and 1
Basic	Students who have 0 to 2 years training or are I need of review. These students often begin the basic program in grade 2.
Level I	For students who have completed the basic level or are at an appropriate age and ability. Approx. age 8 to 10.
Level II	For students who have 2 to 3 years experience. Approx. age 9 to 11.
Level III & IV	For Int./Adv. Dancers. Approx. age 12 to 17.
Open/Adult Classes	Designed for teen & adult dancers of varying abilities.

Ninth State Youth Ballet (by invitation only), Ninth State Youth Dance Company (audition all dancers level III and up), Hometown Holiday Parade (placement and info for all dancers interested age 9 and up), The Boston Celtics (placement and info for all dancers interested level II and up). 6:00pm to 7:30pm.

October 25th, 2007 – Friends of the Arts presents State Street Ballet Carmen at Silver Center. A dramatic and original ballet performed by the professional dancers of the State Street Ballet Company of Santa Barbara, California. Not to be missed, this is the first in our area in 20 years!! December 1st, 2007 – Hometown Holiday Parade
All dancers ages 9 and up welcome to perform in this very fun annual event. Sweatshirt Fee applies. Rehearsals Thursday 6:00pm to 7:00pm – Start Date TBD.

December 7th, 8th & 9th, 2007 – Ninth State Youth Ballet’s Nutcracker

December 14th, 15th & 16th – Ninth State Youth Ballet’s Nutcracker

March 14th, 2008 – Boston Celtics
Ninth State Performing Dance Co. Performance – All dancers in level II and up are welcome to perform at the pre-game show at the The Boston Celtics. Rehearsals are Thursday’s 6:00pm to 7:00pm. Costume Fee Applies. Start Date TBD.

Dance Class Cost

There are discounts for students taking multiple classes and discounts for family/households with more than one member enrolled. Also ask about our Unlimited Dance Program!

The cost of the first dance class for each dancer is $39 for the month.
Each additional dance class per dancer is just $33 a month.
Classes that meet 2 or 3 times a week count as 2 or 3 dance classes.
The Unlimited Dance Program is $199 a month and entitles a dance to take all dance classes at his/her level (does not include dance teams or special events)
Adult Dance Classes: 8 weeks for $78.
Ballroom Dance: $20 a couple each week or $150 for 8 weeks.
